Seva Amazon 2013

Thank you for your interest in donating to the Off The Mat, Into The World 2013 Seva Challenge for Amazon!

Dear family and friends,

I have decided to step into my Seva, into my Leadership, and into my Purpose by taking upon a very important, yet challenging goal for myself this year. I have signed my intention form to raise $20,000,  bringing awareness to the Amazon Seva Challenge 2013; Bare Witness: Ecuadorian Humanitarian Tour, with one of my most inspiring yoga teachers, Seane Corn, a founder of “Off the Mat, Into the World” (OTM). I will be on this journey with “Off The Mat, Into The World”.

It is through “Selfless Service”, the Spirit of Seva that I have committed myself to the 2013 Seva Challenge. It is my goal through fundraising and events, to raise $20,000 by December 31st. I will be working on bringing environmental justice and awareness to environmental issues of deforestation and the oil spill in the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador.  We all live on this planet, Mother Earth and if we cannot stand up for her than who will? She is crying out for help. Without clean air, clean water, trees, what do we have? How do we live?  “Off The Mat Into The World”, part of the Engage Network, is a 501(c)(3) charity organization that bridges Yoga and Activism.

For more information on this year’s Challenge and how to get involved, please check out, my personal fundraising page at

The potential partners and projects we will be working on are Amazon Watch, Cofran Survival Fund, Clear Water and Timmy Global Health. Within Amazon Watch, we will be providing access to clean drinking water, to communities directly affected by oil contamination. With the Cofran Survival Fund, we will be building a ranger station for one year as a way to protect the more than one million acres of the Cofran Nation’s ancestral land from illegal mining/oil exploration. With our efforts with Clear Water, we will be providing sustainable clean water relief to more than 2000 indigenous Ecuadorian families and farmers across 20 villages in the oil devastated regions of the Amazon. And, with our Timmy Global Health efforts, we will be training local healthcare workers to provide access to quality healthcare to people living in remote areas of the Amazon rainforest, constructing a medical facility.

Once again my goal is to raise $20,000 by December 2013 for Ecuador. To make an online donation towards my Seva Challenge, please visit
